Review| Rihanna’s LOUD
Just shy of a year since the release of her album Rated R, Rihanna releases her 5th studio album LOUD.
The LP opens up with the racy dance track “S&M” which just gets you in a loud mood, perfect opener I guess, then goes into the second single, “What’s My Name?” featuring Drake, which I think is just a cute song.
From Rihanna being all hot saying whips & chains excite her and asking Drake what her name is, she then sings about drinking on the Avril Levigne sampled track “Cheers (Drink To that)” I see this as a single, and the video being kind of like Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream”
From then we go into “Fading” which I have to say is one of my favorite tracks from the album. Even though Ms. Fenty is not one of the greatest singers, I tend to like her slower paced songs more the the uptempo tracks. This song will defitely be on repeat in my itunes.
Everyone knows “Only Girl (In The World)” so next is “California King Bed” What is the big deal with this song? Everyone was waiting on this song to leak for so long…. (blank stare) IDK maybe it will grow on me, I did only listen to it one time.
“Man Down” is the track where RiRi goes back to her roots, and brings forth that Bajan accent! Love the accent but dislike the song ——>
The Nicki Minaj assisted track “Raining Men” deserves to be a single! This song is effing hot! It reminds me a lot of Teairra Mari‘s “Body” and I like that song too. Nicki & Ri would make a hot ass video to this!
“Complicated” is complicated! But I like complications (sometimes)
“Skin” is hot lyrically. And the beat just makes me want to shimmy and shake! This should have been on Rated R it seems…. MY FAVORITE TRACK ON THE ALBUM
Rihanna closes the album with “Love The Way You Lie (Part II)” featuring Eminem. I actually heard this song on the radio today.
Overall I give this album a 3.5/5 stars. Great effort just isn’t her best. To me Rated R was her best album, which I know a lot of people will disagree with me on.
